This thixotropic additive is crucial for producing decorative finishes like Lava Craters and Hammered effect. It thickens the plaster without hindering its workability, ensuring the plaster remains fluid and easy to apply. Once it sets, the plaster becomes more pliable, allowing for special effects that would be unattainable with a more fluid material.
