Gilding and Metallics Class 17th April 2026

Gilding can be a very confusing subject and while simple in one way is fraught with problems in another. Get to grips with understanding the difference between acrylic size and oil size and how best to use them. Learn how to use the right product for the project and get the best results. Learn the best way to apply metallic paints and use textures, foils and acrylic metallic plaster to offer really diverse and original finishes.

A one day class covering gilding, foils, metallic materials and effective use of metallic paints.

You will leave with a handbook that includes all the technical details to do with gilding and some extra guidance to help you to continue to learn.

We always supply lashings of coffee and tea, you will have all the boards, materials and tools supplied plus a 10% discount on materials bought after the training.

You will leave with 5 boards:

• a gridded gilded board using metal leaf
• a board doing marble type veining with leaf
• a broken/variegated leaf finish
• a foiled and glazed board
• a board using Perla metallic plaster

The studio will be open at 08:30 but the class starts at 09:00 and finishes at 17:00. It will take place at the following address;
