A flogger is used in wood-graining mainly, striking the long bristle into glazes giving the effect of small pores found in timbers like mahogany and walnut. It can also be used for broken colour work creating finishes like linen or silk.
The little 1.5″ flogger is much smaller than most and bound in a flat metal ferrule which we find makes it easier to get it at the right angle than those with a thicker wooden handle. This size is über-useful for door edges, frames and working in small areas without disturbing finished work.
